A member of the St. Louis County Police tactical team fires tear gas into a crowd of people on West Florissant Avenue in Ferguson in response to gunshots fired at police during protests on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014. For more than two weeks, police and protesters clashed nightly as civil unrest and protests exploded after Michael Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old, was shot and killed by Darren Wilson, a white Ferguson police officer.
